Learn more utility background shapes broadly appealing to modern quilting, seamlessly transitioning between them with bridge elements. Intermediate to advanced.
Student requirements: Sketchbook, pen/pencil. Fabric marking utensil. 2 pc WOF (42”) x 1.5 yards (total 3 yards) of neutral cotton fabric for class sample. Basting safety pins (no spray adhesive permitted in classroom). Arrive to class as early as reasonable to baste quilt sandwich or pre-baste your own quilting sandwich with your own batting. All free motion quilting tools, like free motion gloves or other non-slip tools, such as grip hoops as desired. Scissors/ snips. Trash bag for snips. Additional color of thread, if desired for high visibility.
Recommended option: a “final project” quilt sandwich, of fabric, pre-basted top and backing, about the size of a dinner table placemat to create a composition using class concepts. Thread color to blend. Low contrast / low pattern will show quilting best.
