Description
Twelve free motion designs that can be used for embellishment, backgrounds and fills to create texture, colour and movement to your quilts or other projects.
Great designs for Modern or Traditional quilts to fill that negative space, add dimension around applique designs or use to fill around larger quilted elements like feathers. Some free motion experience is an advised but not essential.
Student requirements:
Two basted quilt sandwiches 25-30” square top (approx), batting and backing larger by 5-6”. Solids work best for showing the designs.
OR
• Twelve – 7 1/2” or 8 1/2”(cut size) colour squares pieced together into a quilt top, then basted as above. Solids work best for showing the designs. Plus one practice piece 20” square as above.
• 50wt good quality Cotton thread – 1 x matching or slight contrast colour to your fabrics
• Paper and pencil for notes and drawing
• Needles 80/12, 90/14 Topstitch, Quilting, Embroidery or bring what you have
• Small pair sharp scissors
• Water soluble marking pen or pencil that can be seen on your fabrics
• Quilting gloves or similar if you use them
