Description
Learn some basic skills using a simple ruler with a straight edge and a gentle curve. Work with some basic marking and explore the technique of free motion quilting with rulers. Create and stitch some simple designs that will encourage and improve your skills for options on your sit down machines.
Explore how to hold, move and use rulers on a Bernina Q series sit down. Basic rulers will be available to use in the class, however if you have your own quilting rulers please bring them along. Some free motion experience is preferable for this class but not essential.
Student requirements:
• One or Two Quilt Sandwiches – up to 30” square. (Lightly spray basted) NOTE: Batting and backing larger by 5-6”. Solids work best for showing the designs
• 50wt good quality Cotton thread to match or slightly contrast your quilt
• Paper and pencil for notes and drawing
• Needles 80/12, 90/14 Topstitch, Quilting, Embroidery or bring what you have
• Quilters Ruler for marking
• Small pair sharp scissors
• Water soluble marking pen or pencil
• Quilting gloves or similar if you use them
