I believe not every quilt needs to be an award winning quilt – all quilts will give warmth, comfort and a little colour to our lives. It really doesn’t matter that its not perfect but rather that you may have learnt a new technique, tried something different – maybe even joined a quilting group and made new friends – this for me is the joy of quilting.

Michelle de Groot
I started like most people with the basics early on sewing my quilts together by hand piecing and hand quilting. I then progressed to machined sewing as I realised I wasn’t going to live long enough to make all the wonderful things I wanted to make. After realising I had found a new love and addiction, I then wondered how I was going to quilt them; hadn’t tried that part of it at that point! So I started taking classes and practiced a lot at home and after 4 years of constant practice I began to quilt my own quilts

Shennah Joiner
I live in NSW where I run a longarm quilting service from my family’s rural farm. Fabric has always been a part of my life, beginning when I learnt to sew on a treadle machine at my grandmother’s side. I strongly believe that anyone can achieve an outcome that they are proud of if they use the right tools and am looking forward to sharing tips and techniques with new quilters, helping them fall in love with their quilting machines and accessories.
Chris Jurd
Chris’ work encompasses all styles with an emphasis on a strong colour palette and a preference at the moment for foundation piecing. She is also a great advocate for machine quilting on a domestic machine.
